About Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is made by Microsoft Corporation and first came out on the App Store in January 2015. It's #84 on today's US App Store top charts. It has 9,380,589 ratings on the US App Store, averaging 4.8 stars. Version 5.2643.0 came out on Nov 2, 2026 and needs iOS 26.0 or later. It's free to download. Among the 46 productivity apps we track on the US App Store, 28 already fill the inner display, 3 are partly adapted and 15 still show black bars. By number of ratings, Microsoft Outlook is #1 of them.

From its App Store listing:

Outlook lets you bring all your email accounts and calendars in one convenient spot. Whether it’s staying on top of your inbox or scheduling the next big thing, we make it easy to be your most productive, organised and connected self. Here's what you'll love about Outlook for iOS: - Focus on the right things with our smart inbox - we help you sort between messages you need to act on straight away …

On the inner display

The app reaches the edges of the inner display. Text and controls stay a comfortable size instead of being blown up.

Apple said on October 22 that it will show the inbox next to a full message, rolling out in the coming weeks. Until then, how the current version looks on the inner display is not confirmed.

In Split View

iPhone Duo is the first iPhone that can show two apps side by side, and every app takes part — including Microsoft Outlook. Open it on the inner display, then add a second app next to it. You can save the pair and come back to it later.

Questions

Does Microsoft Outlook work on iPhone Duo?

Yes. Microsoft Outlook is built for iPhone Duo — it runs full screen on the 7.6-inch inner display and adapts its layout for the fold.

Does Microsoft Outlook work on the outer display?

Yes. iPhone Duo's 5.4-inch outer display behaves like a regular iPhone screen, so every iPhone app works there as usual.

Can I use Microsoft Outlook in Split View on iPhone Duo?

Yes. On iPhone Duo every app can be placed side by side with another app on the inner display — developers don't need to opt in. How comfortable it feels at half width depends on the app's layout.
